In the beginning I had planned on making a 24 page comic book, but I ran into several problems on the way. The first one was that, although I had characters, I did not have a story. Once I finally did have a story, time was running out and I had to rush through my pages. In the end, only the first three made it to the finished stage, and the cover is just a rough mock-up. If I could do this all over again, I would definitely come up with a story sooner and schedule my drawing time better. That way I could have more finished pages to show by now.
In spite of everything, I am still fairly pleased with the pages I was able to finish. One of my goals was to make my characters look more mature and move away from the anime look, and I think I succeeded. Also, I was very worried about inking the drawings, but they turned out fine. Maybe over the summer I’ll continue working on this project for fun, and add the rest of the pages to my portfolio.
